Programmes

The syllabus, followed exactly.

Four tracks, each built around the papers students actually sit. If you are unsure which applies to your child, that is usually the first thing we work out.

01

O-Level & Integrated Programme

For students sitting the O-Level or G3 papers in Secondary 3 and 4, and IP students in Years 3–4 whose school syllabus runs ahead of the national one.

Additional Mathematics is where most students first meet reasoning that has to be justified rather than applied: the factor and remainder theorems, the discriminant, logarithmic and exponential manipulation, and the calculus that follows.

Elementary Mathematics rewards precision and speed more than depth, and it is where careless marks quietly accumulate over two years.

IP students cover much of the same ground earlier and with more abstraction, often alongside investigation work. The teaching follows the school's own sequence rather than a generic O-Level one.

Secondary 1–4: $80–$110 per hour.

Junior College — A-Level

H2 Mathematics (9758) and H1 Mathematics (8865) for JC1 and JC2 students.

H2 is the demanding one, and it is cumulative. Vectors and complex numbers come early, then the techniques of differentiation and integration, differential equations, and the probability and statistics that students most often under-prepare. A gap in JC1 tends to surface as a wall in JC2.

H1 is narrower, and less forgiving of gaps, because there is less room in the paper to recover marks elsewhere.

Both are taught with the mark scheme in view: where method marks sit, what has to be shown, and which conventions examiners expect.

  • H1 Mathematics 8865

Junior College: $100–$120 per hour.

IB Diploma

Mathematics SL and HL, together with Extended Essay supervision and Internal Assessment guidance.

Both Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation are examined on technique and on explanation. IB candidates lose marks as often to unfinished justification as to wrong answers, which makes an examiner's perspective unusually useful here.

The Extended Essay and Internal Assessment are assessed on judgement as much as on mathematics: choosing a question that can be handled well, then writing it up against the criteria. That is the part of the Diploma most often left to chance.

  • Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches SL / HL
  • Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation SL / HL
  • Extended Essay Supervision
  • Internal Assessment Guidance

IB Diploma: quoted on enquiry by level.

N-Level & International

N-Level G2 Mathematics, and AS/A International A-Level Mathematics for international students in Grades 11 and 12.

N-Level students are sometimes taught as though the O-Level syllabus applies at a lower level. It does not. The G2 papers have their own emphases and their own pace, and treating them as a diluted O-Level is how students end up unprepared.

International A-Level candidates are usually working towards a different board and timetable from their school cohort. Teaching follows the specification they will actually sit.

  • Elementary Mathematics N-Level / G2
  • Additional Mathematics N-Level / G2
  • Mathematics AS / A International A-Level

International, Grades 7–10: $80–$120 per hour. Grades 11–12: $120–$150 per hour.

Formats

Three ways to be taught.

One-to-one

Private tuition built around a single student's gaps. The pace is set by what is actually missing, not by a class average.

Small group

Two to four students at a compatible level. Useful for siblings or friends preparing for the same paper.

Crash courses

Focused revision ahead of the June, September and October examinations, built from past and preliminary papers.

In-person lessons are taught at the student's home. Online lessons run over Zoom with an iPad for handwritten working.
